These programs focus on the theoretical and practical skills necessary for students to work in a variety of entry level positions in business, government and nonprofits. Our Business Leadership Building reflects our commitment to preparing future business leaders. The General Business degree is offered for students who are interested in many aspects of business but want to maintain flexibility to explore degree options and offerings across Spears School of Business. By choosing General Business, students will be exposed to more classes in different business units and then explore minors and degree options that fit with their interests. All general education requirements necessary for graduation are met through the courses in the program as indicated above.

Each semester, companies come to us looking for qualified students looking to set themselves apart from the pack. If you’re looking to combine professional with social activities, we have more than a dozen faculty-led student groups in the College of Business. Find your people and meet up for fun as well as the chance to network among yourselves and with guest speakers. Students can pursue the Bachelor of Business Administration degree in General Business Administration on-campus in the classroom or from anywhere in the world through online courses.

Academic And Career Communities

The Online Track requires students to successfully complete 33 credit hours.Students must select 11 courses from the following list of approved business coursework based on the student's interests. The General Business major requires completion of an overall average GPA of 2.0 within the major coursework and CSU requires an overall GPA of 2.0 in order to file for graduation. A minor in business provides non-business majors with the professional skills necessary for positions in business and industry. The curriculum gives a broad introduction to business topics, including finance, management and marketing. In addition to the Co-op program, other experiential learning opportunities abound at LeBow, including consulting courses, case competitions, international residencies, research projects, industry thought leader events, alumni mentorship and more. The beauty of the General Business degree is that it offers students not only academic flexibility, but also career flexibility.

The Herberger Business School is accredited by AACSB International at the bachelor's and master's degree levels. After graduation, you're prepared to take on a number of positions in different industries. Other general business alumni have gone on to become real estate agents, insurance and retail brokers and entrepreneurs. The thirty semester hours of course work must be approved by the academic advisor and should not exceed more than nine semester hours in one academic discipline (e.g. MTKG). General Business differs from the other majors because it is interdisciplinary. This means General Business offers classes in depth from all the business disciplines. A student who has a General Business degree will take classes in accounting, economics, finance, management and marketing. Additionally, the General Business Student has flexibility to pick business electives in areas of particular interest to the student. This course incorporates a study abroad program with an emphasis on examining the conduct of business in foreign countries.
